Pay transparency in job postings is now law in Washington, affecting businesses with 15 or more employees. Effective the first of this year, employers must include wage ranges and benefits in all job recruitment efforts. Companies in other states must also comply if there is a chance of a remote Washington state worker hire. Noncompliance will be expensive.
The bad news: Violations plus investigations and enforcement costs could cost thousands. Worse yet, exposure to a civil lawsuit could exponentially pile on additional financial penalties.
The good news: Washington Retail is hosting a free webinar to be presented by the renowned Lane Powell law firm on Thursday, February 23, at 11:00 AM PST.
Businesses must be well-versed in the complexities of the amendment to Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, and this free webinar will help.
