Issaquah Goes Apples

Downtown Issaquah Association’s 9th annual Issaquah Goes Apples celebrates the harvest season in historic Olde Town with a variety of family-friendly activities throughout October.

Reprising their roles are Farm Fresh Market, Historically Hip Artisan Market, apple cider press, scarecrow building, art experiences, seasonal photo opportunities, and live music in the annual community gathering of Fall on October 19th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Issaquah Goes Apples was conceived nine years ago as a way to bring the community together in the Fall harvest,” said DIA President Christina Bruning. “It has flourished and become an economic boost for our small, family-owned businesses.”

Festivities throughout the month:

  • Downtown restaurants create apple-inspired, artistic menus simply bursting with fresh harvest flavor. Tempt your taste buds as you stroll historic downtown. Consider Fins Bistro, Chicago Pastrami, The Great American Diner, Capri Cellars, JaK’s Grill, Fischer Meats, Boehm’s Candies, No. 95 Café, Sip Thai Zooom, Forest Fairy Bakery, Experience Tea and Sunset Ale House, whose apple specials celebrate the season. Ask for their applelicious specials. Dining Throughout Downtown
  • Issaquah Goes Apples Community Art Program. Artists of all ages and geographies can enter the apple art competition. There will be a People’s Choice Award chosen by online voting on Downtown Issaquah Association’s Facebook page as well as awards by our panel of judges. See all the details to enter the competition.
  • Scarecrows on Front is back! Participants unmask their inner creativity as they design and build a scarecrow. All entries should include an APPLE and are to be dropped off at the Historic Shell Station by October 18, 2024. Scarecrows will be exhibited Downtown through Saturday, November 2.
  • Local farmers will be at Historic Shell October 19 through Dec. 7, with a bounty of Farm Fresh produce from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturdays from Ayala Farms. Haughty Tamale Company will be on site October 19 with steaming hot, fresh Latin-inspired food.
  • Specialty Food Market at Historic Shell will showcase favorite treats, perfect for seasonal gifts Saturdays October 19th through December 7th.
  • Historically Hip Story Stroll: If you see purple people in Downtown Issaquah, you’ll know you’re in the right place. It’s a welcoming place where colors bloom, there are no dumb questions, and everyone stands for what’s right. Through mid-November, the latest Historically Hip Story Stroll, hosted by Issaquah Library & DIA, features “The World Needs More Purple People,” by Kristen Bell and  Benjamin Hart. It starts October 15th at the library and wends through business window displays on Front Street.
Other Happenings on October 19:
